When we face stress or painful situations, we have a tendency to run away from something, or run to something to find comfort. Our bodies give physical cues that we need to pay attention to.
We can easily turn to unhealthy coping mechanisms like binge eating, drinking, shopping, isolating ourselves or numbing ourselves in someway to find comfort. However, these methods only provide temporary relief and can keep us stuck and often lead to long-term negative consequences.
In Episode 93 of the Created To Thrive Podcast, my friend Lisa Pinney and I have an honest conversation about how we had to recognize our own unhealthy ways of trying to find comfort and learn to replace then with healthy ones, so that we can all live happier, more fulfilling lives.
We are both trauma-informed life coaches, and we discuss how emotional health issues are important for our spiritual growth. In this episode, we share some practical tips and strategies for you to develop healthy coping strategies that promote personal growth and confidence. We want to help you build resilience and experience inner peace, joy and rest.
Join our conversation as we explore the power of recognizing and replacing unhealthy ways of coping in times of stress or difficulty.
