Tired of playing life small, feeling less than or unworthy?
Ever felt like an imposture, trying to be someone else or striving to achieve success?
Has the pain of the pain or words from others held you back from flourishing?
Friend, I have been there many times, and recently had to press through to go to a new level in my own journey to be the “REAL me!”
In episode #44 of the Created To Thrive Podcast, I vulnerably share some of my story of how was imprisoned by self protective walls and wore a facade to cover up my brokenness. I began a journey of allowing the Lord to unlock my heart so I could be the woman God created me to be.
Then five years ago, I was in prayer with a close friend, and she prophetically said to me: “I see two Lori’s. One is ‘intellectual Lori’, the other is the real Lori. As we proceeded to press into Holy Spirit to get insight and counsel, it was made very clear to me that I had picked up a performance mindset again and was living from my rational mind, instead of my heart—the Real Me! Sadness and offense had blinded me to living a facade again—feeling like I could control not getting hurt.
I share in more detail in the podcast. Listen here:
I want to help you live free and whole-hearted! Here are four tips I have for you today to help you in this discovery process. (I recommend you listen to episode 2 on Three Keys To Thriving Instead of Surviving to gain more insight on this.
- Seek God 1st! Matthew 6:33. “But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you.” God’s Word, Worship and Prayer.
- Invite Holy Spirit to help you. His is your counselor, teacher, comforter. John 16: 13-15: “When the Spirit of truth comes, he will guide you into all the truth, for he will not speak on his own authority, but whatever he hears he will speak, and he will declare to you the things that are to come.He will glorify me, for he will take what is mine and declare it to you. All that the Father has is mine; therefore I said that he will take what is mine and declare it to you.”
- Acknowledge where you are at & forgive those who have hurt you—release judgment, pain and offense. ( if need help with this, listen to episode 41 where we walk you through how to forgive people.)
- Invest in yourself; get professional help. I have done this recently. I have invested in mentors whom can help me get unstuck in certain areas to help catapult me into God’s best.
